We at Geomag have made the right to education for girls and boys all over the world our mission. Just as playing is important to our company, so do we consider it essential that every child has access to healthy growth and a bright future, so that no one is left behind.
Our mission is expressed in a series of institutional and concrete actions, each aimed at achieving Goal 4 of the 2030 UN Agenda – to „ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all“
Consequently, the Company Management has started collaborative relationships with a few selected groups that are committed to ensuring inclusive education is accessible to all, both by making financial aid available and by donating our magnetic construction toys.
At the beginning of 2020, the School Heroes project was set up and it is run directly by the company’s CEO Filippo Gallizia. It is currently one of Geomag’s main Goal 4 programmes aimed at giving back to society.
Our School Heroes are people who, by being personally committed to bringing positive and tangible change to the world, embody the values and mission of Geomag: key players in social and educational projects aimed at promoting healthy growth and an education for all boys and girls as well as encouraging the development of each child’s potential through alternative not just traditional learning methods.
The term “Heroes” has been adopted not so much for its heroic meaning in the strict sense – that is, to indicate people with special powers – but to highlight virtuous models of behaviour, worth following. These seemingly normal people, who we can all identify with, have all made exceptional choices, dedicating themselves to solving issues of primary importance.
Margherita at the children’s home in Lima, Peru is committed to ensuring that all the children there are able to grow up in a harmonious and happy environment. Chiara in Scampia, Italy is experimenting with the power of music therapy to stimulate and unite kids with different types of intelligence and hidden talents. Father Silvano in the Democratic Republic of the Congo guarantees the right to study to pygmy girls and boys, who otherwise would not have access to education.
Telling the stories and sharing the experiences of these School Heroes is for Geomag a way of affirming our goals, sharing with everyone the valuable testimonials of these people who have made radical choices to make their contribution, in the hope of stimulating others to do their part.
